Let me know what you guys think. It may be pretty confusing, but it's meant to be lol. Read the screenplays and all will become clear

Concept art of the characters and whatnot is definitely welcome should I inspire you in some odd way. Also open for ideas and any questions anyone might have. Enjoy!
LURID is a single chronicling of a series of events that plays out in the mind of author Byron Wolfe. It's prequel, CRYPTID (still in the works, conceptually), is where it all begins.
Byron Wolfe was an author with many bestsellers to his name. A few weeks after turning 30 and the release of a mediocre novel, Byron Wolfe was motivated by something he could not quite explain...
He began writing a tale of a fierce crusader woman turned rogue, by the name of Leontyne. This story was named "Cryptid".
During the time Cryptid was being written, Byron Wolfe would spend day after day holed up in his studio. His family grew distant because of this and his relationships therein were threatened
specifically by his wife, Diana.
Diana had threatened to leave Byron if his priorities were not corrected and he did not focus on raising their children and loving her.
But for reasons unknown, even to Byron Wolfe, he could not stop writing
no matter what.
Diana left
and thus began Byrons downward spiral.
He lost his family.
And didnt know how to cope. In fact, he didnt really know if he wanted to. He didn't know what to do about anything, anymore. A shell of the man he once was. As a result, the only thing he figured that he could do to keep his family in his life was work them into his story
He began writing of a great priestess by the name Dziewanna
embodiment of his Diana. Pure and beautiful. But as his mental health began to dwindle from a great many things, it got the better of him
He started to despise those that did not understand. He began to hate those that abandoned him. He began to hate Diana
and this hate was expressed in "Cryptid". He turned Dziewanna into a priestess possessed by his own inner demons.
...But then he began to lose control over his creations. The more he wrote, the more control he lost. His story and his mind... were now inseperable... and the line between the two began to fade.
Byron Wolfe was losing his mind. So much so that he truly believed Dziewanna posed a threat to the world in his head. As a result, he wrote himself into the story as a warrior by the name of Maugrim... and joined forces with his original character, Leontyne, as she declared war against Dziewanna.
That is the premise of CRYPTID.
In LURID (a work in progress), the events in Byron Wolfe's world are set a ways into the future from the events in CRYPTID. The severity of his insanity slowly progressing, what little of a rational mind that Byron Wolfe has left decides that in order to free himself from writing and to win his family back, he must destroy the world he has created. He once more writes himself into his story, this time as the enigmatic Red Fenris. Playing the part of a self-proclaimed prophet, he obtains cultists and declares war on his world's most powerful kingdom, Tethys. If Tethys should fall, disorder will follow, and then total destruction... or so he believes.
Red Fenris loses the war... and retreats out of his story. Now a confused and broken man, Byron Wolfe questions the power of his creations. How is such a thing possible? How can his written word be so real? Why can't he control his own creations, even when he writes with the intention of doing so?
And then he discovers the truth. ... The unhealthy urge to write. To never stop. The sacrifice of losing his loved ones, his soul, and his mind. ...He was meant to finish the story... before his mind fully collapsed. Whether Byron Wolfe knew it or not... he was indeed, a prophet. A catalyst of things to come.
This is where Teagan's story begins, another of Byron Wolfe's characters. A princess with a recurring vision.
Where once he tried to destroy Tethys, he must now aid its princess in defeating the manifestations of his insanity: the Lurids... horrifying beasts of shadow and agony. Only by doing this can his mind survive long enough to do the unthinkable...
...Bring Teagan into the real world... so that she may save us from our own impending doom.
